  • A Big Mistake with a new digital camera

You got that nice new digital camera. Take loads of nice photos and then when you go and get them printed, they all look rough and pixeled.

As a supplier of Photo Canvas Prints we have come across this issues a few times. We check all images  before they are printed and if there is a resolution issue we tend to contact the customer to let them know. Sometimes we get a replay saying they took the photo on a 10megapixel camera.

What we tend to find is that the customer has just brought the camera or its the first time they have owned one and don't understand how to set the camera up correctly. We have found that some factory set cameras at set at a low resolution setting. SO if you buy a new camera learn what the settings do first.

Most digital cameras give you two options. The first is the size of the image in pixels. The second is the quality setting.

The first one is the most important for capturing the maximum data for large images.

The second one effects the quality of the image. On Fine or Super Fine Then the data is compressed a little but creates bigger files. But on a low setting / course the data is compressed a lot but gives you a smaller file. Even though you will have the same amount of pixels captured, the compression in the file will loose detail and you may even see jpeging scarring around sharp and crisp images. (When pos. Shoot in Raw if you are wanting to produce hi quality images.

So before you get any canvas prints or photo prints done, first read the manual that came with you camera. YOU MAY BE AMAZED WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO WITH YOU CAMERA
